Lower Eyelid Aesthetics Lower eyelid aesthetics are performed for different reasons and with different techniques compared to upper eyelid procedures. The lower eyelid is directly connected to the midface, and issues in this area significantly influence the treatment approach. Common concerns include: • Downward displacement of the midface, • Prominent fat pads in the lower eyelid, • Sagging of the lower eyelid skin, • Drooping of the lash line. The lower eyelid contains three fat pads, and issues such as herniation of these pads, excessive skin laxity, or downward pulling of the lash line can arise. The surgical technique is determined based on the underlying problem: • Transconjunctival Approach: Performed through an incision inside the eyelid. • Transcutaneous Approach: Executed via an incision below the lash line. The goal of both methods is to achieve a natural and youthful appearance. The Recovery Process After Eyelid Aesthetics The recovery process after eyelid surgery is typically quite rapid. Mild swelling and bruising may occur for a few days following the procedure.
